Ariel Cake

Ariel Cake

This cake was for my cousin's daughter, Allison. The flavor was pink lemonade and the design of Ariel were both requested by Allison.
I was a little worried about the design for this cake. For the past few cakes for the boys they have been getting these 3D cakes. It didn't feel right to just draw with icing like I did on Allison's cake last year.
I sat down and created this 3D cake bust of Ariel. I prepared this about three days before her party. On that first day I was just laying in bed till noon thinking about how I was going to pull this off. How was I going to carve this cake and make it look like Ariel?
I guess I'll leave it up to you all on how I did.

There was quite the delay on their 'thank you' for me making this cake. I didn't go to the party. My grandmother and uncle picked it up. Later that day I saw my cousin and he didn't really say anything. That I thought was odd. Even more so when you consider how much time was put into this, and they didn't have to pay for any of it.
He eventually did on Halloween when they brought the kids over.
